The Ladies of Charity of Montgomery County will be hosting a wine and cheese reception today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the home of Kathleen Joyce, 67 Lincoln Ave.

The Mohawk Valley art and woodcarving association will hold its monthly meeting today at 7 p.m. at the Horace J. Inman Senior Citizens Center. Guest speakers Harold Kaltenback and Mike Bloomquist will speak on "Bark Carving Gnome Homes in relief and in the round." The public is invited.
CANAJOHARIE/PALATINE BRIDGE
The Annual Canajoharie/Palatine Bridge Chamber of Commerce community bowling tournament will be held today at Iroquois Lanes in Canajoharie at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Form a team - family/neighbors/co-workers-or call and register as an individual and they will put you on a team. The cost is $15 which includes two games, shoe rental, burger and soda. The Johnstown Unit of Empire State College/SUNY will hold a public information session Wednesday, May 7 at 6 p.m. in room 134 and 135 of the classroom building at Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
The college's Johnstown unit mentor-coordinator will be available to answer questions about the college's flexible associate or bachelor's degree programs.

St. Ann's Episcopal Church Women will be holding a rummage sale Thursday, May 8 from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Saturday, May 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. with a $1 bag sale held.
GLEN
Glen-Mohawk VFW Post 942 will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, May 8. The meeting time has been changed to 7 p.m. Volunteers will be needed for the placement of flags and grave markers on veteran's graves sites in various cemeteries throughout the town of Mohawk. Also plans for Memorial Day ceremonies will be discussed. Members are urged to attend.
